Paige Wagter - owner/head trainer

Paige has had an extensive career showing on the A circuit as a junior. Her college years consisted of numerous wins competing in NCAA shows and being captain of her team for her senior year. Growing up in the Midwest, Paige has a strong background not only showing, but also starting and training multiple green horses who have gone off to be successful on the circuit as well. Owning a training business was a dream since she was a little girl. Paige is always seeking more education and continuously pushes herself in not only her riding, but her students riding as well.  Paige has coached many juniors and adult riders to success in the hunter, jumper and equitation divisions including but not limited to many National H/J and Equitation finals across the US and Canada. Many of Paige’s youth riders have gone on to ride for NCAA and IHSA teams as well.

Paige sits on and is very active in many organizations.

Lina Jernberg - Assistant trainer

Lina brings a strong Equitation foundation to Burkwood. Before turning professional Lina competed as an Adult Amateur winning many high point champion year end awards. Lina’s career includes competing in Ariat Finals at Capital Challenge, placing in many National hunter derbies and having an extensive career in the jumpers. Lina has a patient and compassionate approach designed to build a good relationship between horse and rider, and has an extensive background in starting and developing young horses and ponies.

Emma Arnold

Emma has been with Burkwood since she started lessons in 2013. Emma is our resident cowboy working with a lot of young and green horses. She also teaches and helps manage all the care at Burkwood. Emma competing in IEA and has a full understanding of learning to catch ride. Emma will be a young pro to watch for! Burkwood is proud to add her to the team.
